That awkward moment

When a guy you know from the gym says you look great and that you should do a fitness competition ;)

crossfittinhawaiiantexaschick:

The Ten Principles of Physical Fitness
Cardiovascular/Respiratory Endurance: The ability of body systems to gather, process and deliver oxygen.
Stamina: The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store and utilize energy.
Strength: The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.
Flexibility: The ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint.
Power: The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply maximum force in minimum time.
Speed: The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.
Coordination: The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement.
Agility: The ability to minimize transition time from one movement pattern to another.
Balance: The ability to control the placement of the bodies center of gravity in relation to its support base.
Accuracy: The ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity.

Dear fitness gods,

Here are a few things I’d like you to work on for me:

1. Can you concentrate on getting rid of my stubborn belly fat— and NOT the remainder of my already small boobs?

2. Lets loosen up my hamstrings so that proper squat form is not nearly impossible for me.

3. Can you somehow bring hot males between the ages of 24-29 into my gym so I have some eye candy to look at while I work out?

PLEASE AND THANK YOU IN ADVANCE :)

I’ve been thinking…

since both my housemates start busy season in January— I think I’ll throw myself even more into fitness… I won’t have anyone to really come home and eat dinner with, so I might as well let my gym sessions go extra long.

Also—- I can get nice and fit during the winter and reveal my hot bod in the Spring ;)

Overall fitness goal…

is to feel 95% happy with my body… and to keep being healthy and working out to maintain that happiness.

Doesn’t sound TOO unreasonable- I mean there will always be things about your body that you may not love, but being more lean and fit will make me love that other 95% that much more..

I may not be the “thinnest” I’ve ever been…

but I am DEFINITELY in the best shape of my life. I am stronger. I have more endurance. I have more self motivation and perseverance than I ever did, during any of my several phases of working out and getting healthy.

This is how I know that this is not just a phase. I have consistently worked out 4-6 days per week on average for the past 2 years or so. I haven’t given up. Sure, I’ve had wayyyy to many cheat meals or maybe too a few too many lazy days off, but overall, I’m still here- busting my ass in the gym and trying to keep a healthy diet (and by diet I mean overall eating, not in the “i’m on a diet” sense)

Don’t forget to give yourself some credit sometimes. Be proud of your accomplishments. Don’t look back. Keep pushing, because soon enough, you’ll see your hard work pay off, and not only that, but you’ll FEEL the best you’ve felt in your life.

A few fitness goals of mine…

1. To do at least 1, completely un-assisted pull up

2. To do a handstand

3. To learn how to do cleans, jerks, and snatches (besides w/ a kettle bell, I sort of know how to do those..)

4. To be the girl all my friends come to for fitness advice :) (okay this one is sort of far out there and not really realistic, but I truly love when my friends ask me for help/tips. Makes me feel like they value and trust the knowledge I do have even though I am not a certified PT)

Anyone know any good websites to buy tshirts/tanks with fitness slogans on them?

I’d appreciate any suggestions :)

Everybody check out and follow my twin sister, http://smile4happymediums.tumblr.com/
